About Lagos (Apapa)
Apapa is the older of the two Lagos container terminals and sits inside the city on the mainland side of the lagoon. Congestion around the approach roads is a well-known feature of this lane and container dwell time frequently exceeds the variability of the sea leg. Newer deep-water capacity at Lekki has been added to relieve it.
First Base Freight handles both import and export cargo through Lagos (Apapa) — inbound from any country and outbound to any country. Indicative sea transit on our the UK lane is 18–24 days; transit on any other routing is confirmed at quote stage. For rates, container options and the wider Nigeria lane, including air freight and customs clearance, see the country page — or request a quote for this port.
