About Manzanillo
Manzanillo is Mexico's busiest container port, on the Pacific coast, and sits closer to the Bajío manufacturing corridor than Veracruz does. From Europe, however, it requires a Panama Canal transit and a much longer sea leg, so the inland saving rarely compensates. It is the natural choice for trans-Pacific rather than transatlantic cargo.
