About Marseille
Marseille-Fos is France's Mediterranean gateway, with container handling concentrated at Fos-sur-Mer west of the city rather than in the historic harbour. It serves southern France and the Rhône corridor, and connects north by river barge along the Rhône as well as by rail. For cargo destined south of Lyon it is usually the shorter inland leg compared with Le Havre.
First Base Freight handles both import and export cargo through Marseille — inbound from any country and outbound to any country. Indicative sea transit on our the UK lane is 8–12 days; transit on any other routing is confirmed at quote stage. For rates, container options and the wider France lane, including air freight and customs clearance, see the country page — or request a quote for this port.
